hey every one
I currently produce glass I was wondering if there is any one here who knows how to accurately calculate QA need for each input in order to produce a specifice quality for glass

example
assume i must produce glass with 28QA
i know for that i need 3.5 units of silica and 1 unit of oil what want is to calculate the qa of each input in order to reach my product with the desired quality (28 qa)

I dont have R&D yet so no need to bother with that now but if you want to add this for future reference then its okay

If you click on one glass factory, on the left you will see how the final qa is determined. The glass qa is 55% of input qa (45% silica and 10% oil) and 45% of "process qa" (machinery and research).
In order to obtain qa28 glass you can write:
0.45*(silica qa) + 0.1*(oil qa) + 0.45*( 0 + machinery level) = 28
Assuming machinery fixed, any combination of values of silica qa and oil qa solving that equation is the answer to your question.
Obviously the issue is to evaluate wich combination allow you to save moneys of the inputs costs, and if these qa are available on the market.

another question for you :D

I'd like to know how to calculate this so here is my example
1-Assume i have 1000 iron ore at 10 qa
2-I know that to achieve my target qa of steel i know that my iron ore qa must be 12
3- the public market offer iron ore 15 qa
Question is how do i calculate how much iron ore to buy from the market so when it get mixed in my warehouse with what i already have it results my desired iron ore of 12 qa :help: :hmm: :roll:

Algebra!

1000 * 10 + x * 15 = (1000 + x) * 12

10,000 + 15x = 12,000 + 12x
3x = 2000
x = 667

:)
